About LeanLegal

The LeanLegal Mission

To provide our customers with an alternative to high legal fees through internet access to self-help legal forms and free legal information.

How We Help You

This website is designed to help individuals and small business owners handle routine legal matters on their own.   We are the first providers of downloadable, do-it-yourself legal and business forms in Canada.  All of our forms are drafted by lawyers and prepared by paralegals under lawyer supervision.   Everything published on this site is regularly revised, updated and improved.

The Internet is ideal for delivering self-help legal documents.  Our up-to-date legal information and forms are available 24 hours a day, and your personal information remains completely confidential.  Unlike other legal sites, your personal data is never sent to or accessed by LeanLegal. You simply download your form from the LeanLegal site and complete it on your own computer in the privacy of your home or office.

To help you understand the law, our site also provides free legal information in the form of legal tutorials, a legal encyclopedia, answers to frequently asked legal questions, a legal dictionary, e-mail requests for additional forms or information, a free e-mail newsletter, and helpful links to financial calculators and provincial or federal laws, statutes and regulations.

As our site grows, we will be providing many more articles on a wide variety of legal topics.  We will also be providing a bulletin board so our visitors can discuss our products.

LeanLegal's Objective

Many people now suspect that lawyers charge too much, explain too little about what they are doing and, at times, are not necessary.  We believe that the legal system should be simpler, fairer and more accessible to ordinary people.  Our self-help site is a starting point towards achieving that goal. LeanLegal is committed to helping Canadians understand the law and the legal system.

Contact LeanLegal if you have any questions or suggestions.
